Informal care in England and Wales is valued at £162 billion. South Asian people account for 6.6% of the total UK carer population (5.7 million). Despite rising health challenges and socioeconomic disadvantage, South Asian communities are less likely to access mainstream services while experiencing greater isolation, anxiety, and poorer physical health than white carers. Social prescribing (SP) can improve carer health and wellbeing, but South Asians remain under-represented due to barriers such as lack of trust and cultural competency. This research examines how culturally tailored SP can improve health and wellbeing among South Asian carers promoting inclusive, equitable support.
