SEL skills are considered the foundations for student success. This session will unpack the rigor and relevance of integrating the SEL competencies into academic and guidance lessons. This understanding will encourage participants to promote student agency and advocacy through personal and community-orientated partnerships that build student leaders. Discussions will center around new legislation along with possible funding sources to support the implementation. Participants will be left with new skills to help teachers understand and incorporate SEL ideas into the classroom setting. This session will address research-based resources that will allow participants to develop a campus-specific curriculum to improve student outcomes.
