o The Final Rule on Requirements for Additional Traceability Records for Certain Foods is the latest major rule from the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Based on Section 204 of FSMA, the final rule was published in November of 2022, and while the compliance date is not until January 20, 2026, now is the time to understand the rule and its requirements to ensure you have the proper policies and programs in place. The rule establishes traceability recordkeeping requirements that go beyond any existing regulations, and emphasizes the tech-enabled traceability and smarter tools and approaches for prevention and outbreak components of the FDA’s New Era of Smarter Food Safety blueprint. This presentation will provide an overview of the key features of the rule, including the Food Traceability List, Critical Tracking Events throughout the supply chain, Key Data Elements that will need to be recorded, and required elements of your Traceability Plan. Importantly, the way data must be shared with the FDA will be addressed so you can better gauge your preparedness to meet all the rule requirements.
