Returning to the fundamentals is often the best way to prepare for emerging risks. This session explores the connection between fraud detection and BSA compliance programs, highlighting how foundational controls, risk assessments, and monitoring practices can be adapted to address new fraud typologies and regulatory expectations. We will also discuss the growing role BSA programs play in supporting payment network rule updates — including enhanced fraud monitoring expectations within ACH and other payment channels — and how institutions can position their programs to respond effectively without creating unnecessary operational strain. Participants will review common program gaps, strategies for addressing findings, and effective communication practices with senior management and the Board.
