A workshop on the diversification of WellPoint’s child welfare workforce over the past 5 years. WellPoint is now at 57%+ case managers of color, double the number from when we started our equity initiatives. Our guiding mantra has been the desire to have more proportionate representation in our workforce to respond in earnest to the sometimes-expressed concerns, “they came to my door to help, but they did not look like me.” Being fully aware of the plight that resonates throughout our organizations and the community at large; proactive approaches are vital to ensure organizational health and success.
