Instability of excavations or slopes in rock often occur with little warning and can result in rockfalls that are hazardous to workers or the public and damaging to adjacent structures. A range of rock stabilization or rockfall protection measures are available to mitigate risks associated with rockfalls. This seminar will touch upon common rock mass investigation and analysis methods, identifying likely modes of rock mass instability, and selection of appropriate stabilization or rockfall protection measures.
