The technology architecture and the business models around vehicle data and connected cars are fragmented and involve a lot of parties. Tier 1, OEM, Telematics Services Provider, and Partner in the data ecosystem, just to name a few, interact to deliver value-adding products for customers. The interfaces between these players are complex and numerous. Standardization measures will help to reduce complexity and costs while at the same time increased focus can be put on product innovation to increase customer value.
