Community Health Workers as Conduits of Health Literacy

Ashley Rodriguez is the Community Health Worker System Manager at Baylor Scott & White Health System. In her current role, Ashley is responsible for promoting and driving underserved and community health focused projects, as well as develop new and innovative program applications for CHWs. Ashley's primary body of work focuses on community-based solutions to help address health disparities. Ashley has over 12 years' experience in community and public health. Ashley has served as the DFW-CHW Association’s Vice President of the Board of Directors since 2016. Ashley previously chaired the CHW section of the Texas Public Health Association, in 2018. Ashley has served as the APHA CHW Section Communications & social media chair since 2018; is the current APHA CHW Section Chair; and is President of the Board of the Texas Association for Promotores and CHWs. Ashley is an experientially Certified Community Health Worker, and Certified Community Health Worker Instructor. Ashley is an CHW Instructor affiliated with several training centers throughout Texas and teaches continuing education to CHWs across the state.
