Luis Rendón is the Bilingual Education and Outreach Liaison at OKIE811, where he leads statewide efforts focused on safe excavation practices, damage prevention, and the importance of calling 811 before digging. He develops bilingual trainings, multimedia campaigns, and community outreach activities that make safety information clear, practical, and culturally relevant for crews, contractors, and homeowners. Luis earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations in Venezuela and a master’s degree in Journalism and Broadcasting from the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma. He also holds a Certificate in Media Management from the Price College of Business. Outside of OKIE811, Luis is involved in sports media as a Spanish-language radio voice for OU Athletics, covering Oklahoma football and women’s basketball.
