Val Winkelman serves as the KCACTF National Co-Vice Chair, Auburn University at Montgomery (Distinguished Research Professor), Texas Shakespeare Festival (Associate Artistic Director and Production Manager), USITT (Member), and Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (Associate Member). She is honored to have participated in the following: Texas Educational Theatre Association (2019 Design Fest Guest of Honor), International Council of Fine Arts (Past Fellow), and Alabama Shakespeare Festival (in 2019, a production she designed was invited to perform for the Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference in Washington, D. C.) She received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Distinguished Alumna of the University of North Texas where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree.
