Gabrielle Girau Pieck, born in 1967, studied Comparative Religion and Jewish Theology at the University of California, Berkeley. Further studies of Modern Yiddish and Hebrew Literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and at the Jewish Theological Seminary. She currently teaches English literature and linguistics at the “Gymnasium am Münsterplatz” in Basel.
