I am the owner of The Potager Farm located in Putnam County, West Virginia. I was working a good, unrelated job when my foray into agriculture began as evening and weekend entertainment that went nuclear. Next thing I know, I quit that job and The Potager is producing vegetables, mushrooms and honey bee products for the local market. I've had 1.5 acres in USDA Certified Organic production since 2007. In 2012, The Potager was an early recipient of a NRCS high tunnel and I have been growing 3 seasons annually in the tunnel ever since. Things got further out of hand and I trained as an organic inspector through the International Organic Inspectors Association (IOIA) I have used that training to work as an independent contractor for various agencies. In my spare time (hahaha) I have an over abundance nerdy hobbies. (Feel free to come chat me up about spirograph.) I love my family, my farm and my family farm life that we created here in WV.
