Bruce Fitzgerald is the FirstNet Authority’s Sr. Emergency Management Advisor, working with EMs across the country to learn about their experiences, challenges, and best practices in using broadband communications technology, and helping them to maximize use of the FirstNet network. He also works directly with public safety agencies in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Mr. Fitzgerald is a former State Emergency Management and Homeland Security Director for the State of Maine, serving nearly 15 years overall at the Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). As MEMA Director, Bruce was the State EOC Coordinator and served in many roles including as the Chair of the Governor’s Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC), as the Region 1 Vice President on the National Emergency Management Association's (NEMA) Board of Directors, and with New England and Canadian partners on the Board of the International Emergency Managers' Group (IEMG). Bruce is a graduate of the University of Maine in Orono and resides in South China, Maine.
