Emmett H. Buhmann (Lighting Designer) received his BFA in Theatre from the University of Wyoming in 2002, and his MFA in Drama from the University of California, Irvine in 2009. Professor Buhmann is a member of the Bridgewater State University Faculty, Lighting Designer for both the Theatre and Dance departments, and is the Region 1 Chair of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, where he has served in leadership for the last 8 years.
Emmett has worked with such companies as The Capachione School (Alice by Heart), Spectrum Theatre Ensemble (The Importance of Being), Brown Box Theatre (Much Ado About Nothing), BSU’s Family Performing Arts Center (Seussical) , Company ONE (peerless), The Un-Common Theater Company, The City of Somerville, MA (Dancing in the Streets Summer Series), Ballet Lubbock, Flatlands Dance Theatre, The Cactus Theatre, Snowy Range Summer Theatre, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals, and Seattle’s Balagan Theatre (Les Misérables). His design work has been seen in Massachusetts, Texas, California, Wyoming, Seattle, New York and Prague, CZ. Recent Lighting Design credits include Newsies, Into the Woods, Dracula, Mean Girls, Heathers the Musical, Bat Boy, Carrie the Musical, Godspell, Epic Proportions, Richard III, Macbeth, Urinetown the Musical, The Skin of Our Teeth, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, Young Frankenstein, The Conference of the Birds, Assassins, Winterdance and Dance Kaleidoscope.
