Monica brings more than 20 years of experience in mission-driven affordable housing and community development. She has participated in the successful development of
more than $300 million in mixed-used, multi-family and single-family residential properties located across New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Puerto Rico.
Monica began her career in affordable housing development at Providence Housing Development Corporation as a college intern. She returned in 2005 to serve as the
non-profit's second Executive Director. Monica then served as Senior Vice President of Housing for PathStone Corporation, where she provided executive leadership for PathStone's real estate development, housing counseling, and housing rehabilitation services located in New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Puerto Rico.
In 2016, Monica founded MM Development Advisors, Inc. MM Development Advisors, Inc. provides comprehensive real estate development, community development, and general administrative advising to not-for-profit organizations and mission-focused, community-oriented private companies. MM Development Advisors, Inc. also provides housing related strategic planning services to not-for-profit owners of affordable housing and municipalities.
Monica received her undergraduate degree in economics, cum laude, from the University of Rochester; a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University; and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Syracuse University College of Law. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
Monica has participated in a leadership capacity on the boards of several not-for-profit corporations in the Rochester area. She is currently the Board Chair of the Community Design Center of Rochester. Monica is a co-founder of the professional networking association NY Women in Real Estate (NYWIRE).
