Workshop Session #2B
10:40 AM - 11:30 AM Sat
Susan Rocco is the longtime Coordinator of the Special Parent Information Network (SPIN), a parent-to-parent information and support program housed within the Disability and Communication Access Board (Department of Health) and funded by the Department of Education with federal special education dollars. She likes to say that her son Jason got her the job when he was only 4 years old--the position required experience as a parent of a child with disabilities--and he remains at the heart of her systems advocacy at age 40. Through SPIN, Susan has had the good fortune and privilege to be mentored by other parents and helping professionals, and she is a huge believer in parents helping parents and coalition building.
