Master Corporal Vance Cox is a Patrol Officer for the Idaho State Police. Master Corporal Cox began his law enforcement career in 2000 with the Idaho State Police. He has received his POST Supervisor Certificate. Master Corporal Cox is assigned to the Region 6 patrol office. Master Corporal Cox has served as a Recruiter for the Idaho State Police since 2002. Master Corporal Cox has instructed classes at BYU Idaho through his recruiting assignment. Master Corporal Cox has assisted in teaching new ISP Troopers in Criminal Interdiction, at several ISP Advanced Training Academies. Master Corporal Cox graduated from Ricks College with an Associates degree in Arts and Sciences, and has continued his education towards a Bachelors degree at BYU Idaho. He has over 3000 hours of Law Enforcement training. Those training hours include: Drug Recognition Expert, Drug Investigation, Drug Interdiction and DUI Detection, The Reid Interview and Interrogation School, The Kinesic Interview and Interrogation School, Desert Snow, National Interdiction Conferences, MVCI conferences, 420 Group trainings, and various other criminal interdiction trainings. Master Corporal Cox has travelled to Phoenix, AZ, SLC, UT, Riverside County CA, McAllen TX, Amarillo TX, and FT. Stockton TX, to work side by side with Criminal Interdiction Troopers on different major drug corridors in those areas.
