Dr. Tracie Anderson Swilley, the 2025 NASSP National Principal of the Year, is a transformational leader with over a decade of success as principal of Fairfield Central High School. Currently the Assistant Superintendent of Academics in Fairfield County School District, she is known for her commitment to cultivating future leaders, guiding multiple assistant principals and teachers into leadership roles, and mentoring principals across South Carolina. Her accolades include the 2025 SCAEOP Administrator of the Year, 2024 SCASA Secondary Principal of the Year, and various regional honors recognizing her impact on education and community. A dedicated advocate for excellence and equity, Dr. Swilley is an active member of professional and civic organizations and serves in several leadership roles at the state level. With degrees from Columbia College, the University of South Carolina, South Carolina State University, and Gardner-Webb University, she uses data-driven strategies to foster a culture rooted in belief, achievement, and success. She proudly upholds Fairfield County School District’s motto—Excellence through Teamwork—while cherishing her most important role as mother to Jalen and Peyton.
