Ketan Madia is an International Tax Partner at PwC Singapore. He is also the South East Asia Leader for Global Enterprise Tax Solutions, a business unit formed recently to provide managed Tax Services to Global MNCs.
Ketan has 23 years of international tax, regulatory, finance and operations experience in diverse industries (infrastructure, digital, media, financial services) across Asia. He started his tax career in 1994 with Arthur Andersen in India before joining the tax team at General Electric (GE) in 1999. Ketan joined PWC in April 2017.
In his 17 years with GE, Ketan has done extensive work on structuring commercial transactions, investment structures, tax due diligence, merger and acquisitions, transfer pricing, audits, litigation, tax incentive negotiation and tax advocacy. He also led projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of tax compliance operations through automation and shared service initiatives. Ketan’s experience of financial planning and finance operations roles with GE gives him the ability to assess tax issues and opportunities from a holistic perspective, taking into account finance implications, implementation challenges and overall business goals. Ketan’s last role with GE was as Tax Leader for South East Asia where he led all aspects of the tax function across the diversified GE business portfolio for South East Asia, Hong Kong, Mongolia and Taiwan.
Ketan specializes in international tax structuring and has been an active part of global tax advocacy on the OECD BEPS initiatives. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants India and is a regular speaker at industry forums across the region.
