Dr. Olugbenga (‘Gbenga) Oyewole is a Public Financial Management (PFM) and Governance Reform Consultant. During a career in PFM and Governance Reform consulting spanning over twenty years, Dr. Oyewole was directly involved in World Bank and Department for International Development (DFID) funded programs and projects in the specific areas of Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), Medium Term Sector Strategy (MTSS), Annual Budget Planning and Preparation, Public Investment Management (PIM), Revenue Administration, Monitoring and Evaluation, Procurement and Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) at the Federal, State and Local Government levels in Nigeria and Federal Government of Somalia. He was also involved in PFM reform projects for the Government of Liberia’s General Auditing Commission and The Gambia funded by the European Union (EU). The output of a 2011 World Bank funded Country Case Study (Lagos State, Nigeria: PIM Investment in Infrastructure for a Modern Megacity), part of a global study, carried out by Dr. Oyewole was published by the World Bank. Having been certified by Central Bank of Nigeria (2010) and World Bank/Tokyo Development Learning Centre (2011) as a Microfinance Training Service Provider, he is a microfinance consultant. Before venturing into PFM and Governance Reform consulting he was a university lecturer in Nigeria and also worked in the Research Department of Central Bank of Nigeria. He holds Ph.D. Economics, M.Sc. Economics, MBA, and B.Sc. (Social Science) Economics degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
