Richard Brown is a policy analyst, researcher and writer, specialising in urban development and governance, innovation and higher education, and London’s economy and history. Over 25 years, Richard has worked in a wide range of London institutions – helping to set up the Greater London Authority and working for the first Mayor of London, establishing the organisational infrastructure for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and legacy, developing the business plan for Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and leading the research and events teams at Centre for London, the independent think tank for the capital. He is an associate fellow at the University of London’s School of Advanced Study, a trustee of SOAS University of London and a founding director of London Modern, which celebrates modernism in the metropolis. He has degrees from Birkbeck University of London and University of Oxford.
