Mr. Horn is a seasoned Information Technology and Cyber Security Professional. With over 40 years of experience, he has seen the information technology industry evolve from the days of early networking and the original PC to Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain. Gary has also been involved with cyber security from the very first viruses and exploits to impact PC’s and the Internet. With a broad and deep expertise in the engineering, technology, and cyber security fields, Mr. Horn has been in a variety of management roles including biomedical engineering, data and voice architect, network operations, telecommunications, security operations, and cyber security. Horn has been in his current role since April 2018. In this role he has provided leadership and strategic vision around the effort to continue the rapid evolution and maturity of the Information Security Program at Advocate Aurora Health. Horn keeps abreast of the latest developments in cyber security by participating in a number of industry groups including InfraGard, and ISACA. Horn also participates in DHC Cyber Threat Briefings. Mr. Horn holds a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and a and a BSEE in Biomedical Engineering from Southern Illinois University and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Horn is an active member of the IEEE.
