Dr. Lynnane George is a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering professor at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She teaches classes on electronics, space systems, and robots because those subjects are fascinating and fun! She earned her Bachelor's and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and later went on to get her PhD, specializing in robotics. After graduation, Lynnane joined the US Air Force, earning the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In the Air Force, she got to work on rockets and space systems. One of her favorite assignments was launching a 27-story tall rocket carrying a huge satellite into space from an Air Force base in Florida. In her spare time, you can usually find Lynnane volunteering with Cool Science, a non-profit that promotes the wonder and understanding of science by providing hands-on learning experiences. She continues teaching and getting people excited about the wonderful world of science and engineering because she loves it!
