Lee Ann Magoski, ENP is the Director of Emergency Communications for the County of Monterey, California, where she leads a consolidated 9-1-1 center serving 28 public safety agencies. She has nearly 30 years of experience in public safety communications, having served at four different agencies and advanced from Dispatcher to executive leadership roles. She currently serves as President of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and is a Chair Officer on the NENA Executive Board for the 2023–2027 term. Previously, she served on the CALNENA Executive Board from 2016 to 2022, including roles as Secretary, Vice President, and President, where she helped advance legislative recognition of dispatchers as first responders in California. Her work spans operations, policy, and technology, with leadership experience in CAD projects, PSAP relocations, and the deployment of AI-powered tools for non-emergency call handling, training, and quality assurance. She has contributed to national standards development through NENA workgroups focused on PSAP operations and the evolving relationship between 9-1-1 and 988. She is also a strong advocate for expanding the collection and use of national data to inform policy and improve outcomes for the 9-1-1 community. Lee Ann holds a master’s degree in Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in Management from Saint Mary’s College of California. She is a certified Emergency Number Professional (ENP) and has completed executive leadership training through the CSAC Institute.
