Lieutenant Douglas W. Thompson holds a bachelor’s in criminal justice and business from Liberty University and has served with the Louisiana State Police since 2007. He is trained in critical incident stress management, suicide intervention and postvention care, as well as peer support. Before the State Police, he worked as an independent security contractor and instructor, training anti-terrorism officers in close-quarters combat, tactical operations, and sniper skills. He is also a decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Scout-Sniper. He deployed as Chief Scout in Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003) while serving with the 3rd Battalion 23rd Marine Regiment.
