I began my career in public safety as a 911 Telecommunicator in 2001 with Oktibbeha County Emergency Management Agency./E911. In 2003, I was promoted to the Deputy Director position of this agency. I served in that position until being appointed as Director in 2017.
In 2012, I was Oktibbeha County’s 1st Mississippi Certified Emergency Manager. Continuing to serve on many emergency management and 911 boards across the state, I also graduated in 2017 from the Emergency Management Institute's National Emergency Management Basic Academy and in 2019 of the National Emergency Management Advanced Academy. I have also been a Nationally Certified Floodplain Manager since 2018.
I have served as the North Team Leader and Assisting State Coordinator for the Mississippi Telecommunicator Emergency Response Team (MS-TERT) and was one of only 9 EMA Directors in Mississippi chosen by to sit on the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency’s (MEMA's) Advisory Committee for Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) in 2017.
While very supportive of emergency management and 911 in Mississippi, I have had the pleasure to serve in board positions on the Mississippi 911 Coordinators Association, Mississippi NENA and the Mississippi Civil Defense/Emergency Management Association (MCDEMA), including serving as the Chairperson for the Mississippi Certified Emergency Manager (MCEM) program.
Currently I serve as the President for Mississippi NENA and an Associate - National Criminal Justice Training Center - Instructional for Fox Valley Technical College. I also serve on the Mississippi Board on Emergency Telecommunications Standards & Training (BETST).
After 25 years of dedicated service, I retired from Oktibbeha County and as President of the Mississippi 9-1-1 Coordinators Association. After retiring in 2025, I am fortunate to have transitioned into the private sector, where I continue to advocate for the advancement of public safety and continuing to share my passion for improving emergency response for our First Responders and our citizens in need.
