I'm known for shaking up the ELA curriculum at Brentwood Elementary School of Engineering. By applying the Engineering Design Process to literature, I've had my students build survival structures for fictional characters and recreate monuments for civil rights heroes. I live for those 'aha' moments when I can look at my class and say, 'Nobody is teaching you this lesson like this!
