Benita Tipton works as a Secondary Science Consultant with the NC Department of Public Instruction. Prior to coming to the Department, she taught high school science and college-entry biology at a community college. She earned a master's degree in Education with a concentration in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Benita has a passion for developing strong relationships as the foundation of everything she does, both professionally and personally.
