Diederick E. (Rick) Grobbee is a Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the University Medical Center (UMC) Utrecht and distinguished University Professor of International Health Sciences and Global Health at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. He also holds honorary appointments at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the University of Sydney, Australia.
Rick Grobbee has been a (principal) investigator in many large-scale epidemiologic studies and randomized intervention trials relating to the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. He has authored or co-authored more than 1,000 scientific papers, chapters, and books, and has supervised more than 120 PhD fellows. His Hirsch index is 105.
