Dr. Wagle has over 22 years of experience in the electric utility industry. He has actively participated and extensively commented on California's generation interconnection and transmission planning processes. He closely follows and represents clients in the market design issues at the CAISO. He has represented CCSF and BAMx in multiple CPUC proceedings. Dr. Wagle sponsored expert testimonies before the CPUC in multiple Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity proceedings and before the FERC in the California Independent System Operator Corporation's ("CAISO") Integrated Balance Authority Area ("IBAA") proceeding.
He has managed numerous large projects in the areas of market design, electricity market price forecasting, electricity generating asset valuations, optimization of energy resource portfolio, and risk management. He has published widely in the areas of electricity generation and transmission adequacy, ancillary service markets, and market-based valuation of coal technologies. Prior to joining Flynn RCI, Dr. Wagle was a Senior Economist with LCG consulting based in Los Altos, California. He taught undergraduate economics courses as an adjunct lecturer at Stony Brook University, NY.
Dr. Wagle holds a B.S. in Mathematics and a Master's Degree in Mathematical Economics from the University of Bombay, India, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Stony Brook University.
