3:00 PM - 4:20 PM Thu
Eli Harland has served as an advisor to Commissioner Vaccaro since her appointment to the Energy Commission in March 2022. Eli supports the commissioner in her lead responsibility areas, including offshore wind, renewable energy land use planning, siting new electric generation resources, and the Renewables Portfolio Standard. Eli was an advisor to former commissioner Karen Douglas from 2019 to 2022 and from 2013 to 2014.
Eli began working at the Energy Commission in 2011 and has worked on a variety of energy issues on both sides of the “meter”, from planning for large-scale renewable energy development and conservation in the California desert and Pacific Ocean to energy research and development of low-carbon customer and community microgrids.
Prior to working for the Energy Commission, Eli worked for a municipal consulting firm providing land use planning and community development services to cities, counties, and regional organizations throughout California.
Eli earned his B.A. in history and M.S. in urban land development from Sacramento State University. When he’s not at work or coaching his kid’s youth sports teams you can find him on his bike along the American River bike trail.
