Chip Silverman is the Senior Manager of Grid Services and Virtual Power Plants at Sunrun. He leads business development, market entry strategy, and policy work related to Sunrun’s residential electrification business with a focus on energy storage and electric vehicles. Prior to joining Sunrun, he was the Director of Market Development and Policy at FreeWire Technologies where he worked on decarbonizing the transportation sector by utilizing electric vehicles as a grid resource through Vehicle to Everything (V2X) technology. Chip completed tenures at Voltus, a DER aggregator, and Bloom Energy, a developer of hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers, and started his career in investment banking. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economics from The Colorado College and a Masters in Business Administration from Cornell University.
