Martin was a Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility at Leeds Business School, UK. He managed students based in the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Mauritius, and the United Arab Emirates in their Doctor of Philosophy studies. Prior to being an academic, Martin has had commercial experience as a financial manager of corporations in Singapore and Australia. He was an associate member of the Certified Practising Accountant, Australia, and member of the Australian College of Educators. He has been recognised in the Marquis Who’s Who in the World in 2007 publication for his research in establishing a Quality Effectiveness Instrument. He has published in international journals such as the Corporation Reputation Review, Journal of Global Responsibility, Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal and Journal of Accounting & Organisational Change.
He is currently an Associate Editor of Social Responsibility Journal. He is one of the founders and CEO of Samy Medical Group Pty Ltd that manages medical practices. He currently holds Visiting Professorships in a few universities. He supervises PhD students.
A social democrat at heart, he joined the Australian Labor Party and holds the position of convenor for the Community and Social Policy Committee and branch leadership role in the City of Rockingham
