In nine seasons as Oregon’s head coach, Kelly Graves has established a winning culture and cemented the Ducks as one of the premiere women’s college basketball programs in the nation.
He was named the John R. Wooden Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2020. Graves will begin the 2022-23 campaign with a record of 190-75 through eight seasons at Oregon, and a 617-277 overall mark in 28 seasons as a head coach, which includes three years at Big Bend Community College
(1989-92). He is 572-237 all-time in 25 seasons as an NCAA Division I head coach, with successful stops at Saint Mary’s University (1997-00) and Gonzaga University (2000-14) before coming to Oregon.
Graves is one of a few head coaches who have led three different schools to the NCAA Tournament (Saint Mary’s, Gonzaga, Oregon) and is the only coach in NCAA history to lead two double-digit seeds to the Elite 8. Graves has led seven teams into the Sweet 16, four into the Elite 8 and one into the Final Four. In all, Graves’ teams have won 22 conference regular season and tournament championships including five PAC-12 Championships.
As a coach for the USA U18 & U19 national teams Graves won Gold Medals in the FIBA Americas in 2012 & the 2013 World Championships in Lithuania.
Graves and his wife Mary of 28 years have three sons: Max, Jack and Will.
