Madrid II - How to Build a Safety Committee That Runs Itself

Tim Wilson has been a dedicated safety professional since 1993. He is a two-time graduate of Oklahoma State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection and Safety Technology in 1993 and a Master’s degree in Engineering and Technology Management in 2009. He obtained his Certified Safety Professional designation in 2000 and became a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager in 2007. A member of the ASSP since 1997, Tim has served as the Tulsa Chapter Treasurer and as the Chapter Liaison to the OSU ASSP Student Section.
His career spans various industries, including manufacturing in the paper sector with International Paper in Green Bay, Wisconsin; tire manufacturing with Goodyear in Lawton, Oklahoma; marine propulsion manufacturing with Mercury Marine; and aerospace manufacturing with ASCO Aerospace in Stillwater. He also has experience in the energy sector, having served as a Regional EHS Manager with Suzlon Wind Energy in the U.S. and as an expatriate in Doha, Qatar, with Occidental Petroleum.
From 2018 to 2023, Tim was an Assistant Professor at OSU’s School of Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology. He has a proven track record of developing effective employee safety committees and has presented on the topic at various industry events.
Tim currently resides in Stillwater and serves as the Corporate EHS Manager for Sonaca North America, an aerospace manufacturing company.
