Multi-County Technical and Political Considerations for Building a Regional Network

Dave Taylor, 911 Coordinator for the Nez Perce County-City of Lewiston Emergency Communications Joint Powers Board (NPC-COL ECJPB), has 33 years of technical and 8 years of managerial experience. He has a Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology completed in June of 1986. In 2009 Taylor began his career in Public Safety Communications with NPC-COL ECJPB where he manages and maintains the Public Safety Communications Networks and Systems for PSAPs at the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office and City of Lewiston Police Department. He has managed and led numerous projects in Emergency Communications including system upgrades where he successfully worked with PSAP operational staff, executive, and elected leadership to achieve significant systematic improvements. Taylor is currently a member of the DIGB2 task force coordinating the broadband fiber project throughout District 2. This project will provide a fiber optic broadband network backbone that will connect District 2 to similar networks in Idaho for delivery of Emergency Communications including NG9-1-1 and the National Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN).
