Sherrine Azab is the Co-Director of Detroit based ensemble A Host of People (AHOP), where she is proud to have shown our work all over Detroit, and nationally. Most recently AHOP was awarded a NEFA National Theater Project Creation and Touring grant for their newest work, Cleopatra Boy. She holds a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle where she founded the critically acclaimed company Strike Anywhere Productions 2002-2007. During her stint in New York, she worked extensively with Target Margin Theater of which she is still a proud Associated Artist, and also served as the Associate Producer for The Foundry Theatre (NYC) during 2011 and 2012. She holds a postgraduate certificate from the Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance at Wesleyan University and was a member of the 2008 Lincoln Center Director’s Lab. Other professional highlights: staff member of Network of Ensemble Theaters (2012-2019), 2018 UMS Artist in Residence, and collaborating with the Arab American National Museum and NYC-based theater Ping Chong + Co.
