Tom Arvetis is an award-winning writer/director/performer whose work investigates the themes of identity, family and community. In 2004, he founded Adventure Stage Chicago, a professional theatre for families and young audiences that produces out of the Northwestern Settlement House in Chicago where he still serves as Producing Artistic Director. His plays have been produced nationally and, in addition to his own work, he has nurtured the development of nearly a dozen world premieres by other playwrights. Playwriting credits: Walk Two Moons (Dramatic Publishing; AATE Distinguished Play of 2013), Spark (Dramatic Publishing), Sight Unseen and I Dream in Blues. Select directing credits include: Augusta and Noble by Carlos Murillo (world premiere), Six Stories Tall by Marco Ramirez (Midwest premiere and national tour), And a Child Shall Lead by Michael Slade, 500 Clown: Trapped (national tour), Katrina: The Girl Who Wanted Her Name Back by Jason Tremblay (world premiere), The Blue House by José Cruz Gonzáles (world premiere). In 2013, Tom received the Orlin Corey Award for Artistic Excellence from AATE.
