Lauren Jen is the Assistant Medical Director of School and Camp Health at The Children’s Aid Society. Clinically she has a busy practice seeing patients in foster care and adolescent reproductive health visits. In her administrative role, she serves as medical supervisor to 6 school-based health centers across the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island. Additionally, she serves as the medical director for Children’s Aid camp and respite programs.
Lauren received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University. She attended medical school at SUNY Stony Brook where she graduated with honors and then completed her residency at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In 2020 she was named as one of United Hospital Fund’s inaugural PEDS (Pediatrics for an Equitable Developmental Start) fellows, where she is completing a 15-month fellowship. Outside the office, Lauren is very involved in the American Academy of Pediatrics, including participation on the School Health Committee.
Lauren loves working in a diverse, vibrant neighborhood and is inspired by the children and families with whom she works. She takes pride in being a member of such a distinguished Community Based Organization that has a deep commitment to the children of New York City. As a mother, she is motivated to work for justice for all children and to give all children the same opportunities as her children.
