Porsche Johnson, LMSW is a Seattle native who has lived and worked in Baltimore, MD since obtaining her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Since graduating, she has dedicated her career to ensuring that children and families in Baltimore City have equitable access to the resources and opportunities needed to thrive and lead healthy lives. This mission led her to the community school strategy where she has spent her professional career.
She began her tenure in the strategy as a Community School Coordinator with Child First Authority, Inc. in Baltimore. In her four years as a coordinator, she created strategic partnerships and deepened relationships with community organizations and anchor institutions to provide resources for families and the community. She also leveraged expanded learning opportunities and supportive programming to enhance the educational experience of students both inside and outside the classroom. Using her clinical skills, she also developed a social work internship program to provide clinical support for students at Child First Schools.
Porsche currently serves as the Director of Community Schools with Child First Authority, Inc., where her role is to manage and lead a team of twelve coordinators, ensuring that they have the tools, supports and resources necessary to implement the community school strategy at their respective schools. As a former coordinator, she brings a unique perspective to the work. Having been in their shoes, she knows what’s needed to implement this work efficiently and effectively and enjoys being able to work shoulder to shoulder with the team to problem-solve and strategize, and opening their eyes and minds to what else could be possible. In her free time, Porsche enjoys working out, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
