Migdalia, a master’s level administrator, and youth development specialist, joined the Children’s Aids in 2006 as Community School Director for the Salomé Ureña de Henriquez (SU) Campus in the Washington Heights/Inwood section of New York City. As director of SU Campus, Migdalia partners closely with Two principals and school staff from M.S. 322 and City College Academy for the Arts M.S. 293. At the campus, she also coordinates a full range of programs and services, including a full-service School-Based Health Clinic, Day-School Career Readiness Internship Program, Service Learning Program, after-school program, parent engagement, Parent Summer Camp, Adult Educational Program, and TEENS in Action Program. Migdalia is a firm believer in change and second chances. Before coming to the Children’s Aid, Migdalia served as Executive Director of the NYC Department of Juvenile Justice Horizon Juvenile Center and S.E.E.D.S. Non-Secure Detention from 1999 -2006. In May 2013, the New York State 72nd Assembly District awarded Migdalia with a Proclamation for her ‘exemplary contribution as a role model and respected authority on humanitarian and educational reforms living to make the lives of inner-city children a much better one with a brighter future. Migdalia has a Doctoral and Master’s graduate from the Christian University in Ministry and Theology, a Master of Science degree in Public Administration/Organizational Development, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Human Services from The College of Human Services in New York City.
