Biography
Arnery Reyes
For the past eighteen years, Arnery Reyes has worked for Children’s Aid as a community school director who developed a strong collaborative partnership with the school’s principal and leadership team. Currently Arnery continues her work at PS 8 The Luis Belliard Community School, where she is responsible for promoting the collective vision and mission of the school partnership and climate. Arnery is also responsible for overseeing and promoting quality programming that is also integrated with the school, and includes early childhood education, after school academic enrichment, parent engagement opportunities, medical, dental, and mental health services.
Before working with Children’s Aid, Arnery worked as a program supervisor at Alianza Dominicana’s Family Assistance Program, facilitating services to children and families impacted by alcohol and drug addiction, child abuse, domestic violence and poverty. Prior to obtaining her Master’s Degree, Arnery worked as a Language Arts/Creative Art Teacher at PS 173 an elementary school located in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. Arnery is a certified Field Instructor and Licensed Social Worker with over twenty years of professional experience. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from The City College of New York in 1995 and her Master’s Degree from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Services in Social Work in 2002.
