Ms. Aisha Young, an Ethnogerontologist and Womanist Theologian, is a native of Colorado and graduate of Lewis-Palmer High School. She also attended the first AAYLC when it became co-ed in the late 90s. A 2x HBCU graduate, she earned her B.S. in Gerontology from Bethune-Cookman University in 2002. Aisha earned her master’s in Aging Studies from the University of South Florida in 2008. In 2023, she earned her second master’s in theology from the Institute of Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana. In 2024 she earned her Chaplaincy certification. Aisha is currently a Doctor of Ministry Candidate at Emory University.
Aisha volunteers and is very civically engaged. As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, she helps with the Seniors on Saturday program. She is also active in the Colorado Springs Diocese and the current president of the Colorado Springs Council for Black Catholics. Additionally, she serves as the vice president of the board for the Office of Public Guardianship for the State of Colorado.
Aisha resides in Colorado Springs. She enjoys crafting and gardening. The best part of her day is spending time with her daughter.
