WF3: Understanding, valuing water, and managing irrigated agriculture in the Nile basin ***ENDED
1:45 PM - 4:00 PM Thu
Found that drip irrigation applied with conservation agriculture production systems on experimental field plots led to reduction in evaporation and runoff, and increase in percolation and crops yield over plots where drip irrigation was applied with conventional tillage production systems.:
Applied GIS and modelling techniques to assess suitability of land for irrigation in the Nile Basin based on soil and topographical characteristics. Found 49.8 million to be suitable, and 7.5 million ha to be highly suitable, for irrigation in the Nile Basin
