9:45 AM - 12:00 PM Thu
The paper quantifies the impact of climate variability and land use/land cover changes on streamflow in the Upper Rwizi Catchment in the Lake Victoria Basin by integrating semi-distributed rainfall-runoff models together with GIS and remote sensing tools. The paper concludes that climate variability has a relatively bigger effect on streamflow and recommends greater efforts be made at climate change adaptation in the water resources management sector.:
This study assessed drought and household adaptation to water scarcity during drought in Kasali, South west Uganda. The study found that households had moderate adaptive capacity and spend longer hours collecting water during dry years than wet years.
