Kathy Bartilson lives near Spooner with her husband Kevin Hagen, and enjoys all the outdoor activities the Northwoods has to offer. She retired from Wisconsin DNR in 2018, serving for 40 years in water quality programs. Some career highlights include helping secure the Totogatic State Wild River designation, and working on protection strategies for the St. Croix River Basin.
Kathy currently serves on the Boards of the Friends of the Namekagon Barrens, Washburn County Lakes and Rivers Association, the new Yellow River Protection Conservancy and Namekagon Church in Earl. She is also active in the North Woods and Waters of the St. Croix Heritage Area, and the statewide Creation Care Team for the Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ.
