Mike is Wisconsin DNR’s Shoreland Program Coordinator. In this role Mike is tasked to ensure consistent, efficient, and effective statewide implementation and coordination of Wisconsin’s Shoreland Zoning Program. He provides technical, policy, and regulatory assistance to zoning administrators, department staff, and other stakeholders interested in and working under the direction of NR 115, NR 117, and NR 118, Wisconsin Administrative Code.
Mike has over 25 years of experience working on a variety of water, shoreland zoning, solid waste, aquatic toxicology, brownfield redevelopment, recreational trails, and transportation planning projects for numerous sectors with a wide variety of people, including over 15 years with DNR.
Mike earned a BS in Water Resources – Aquatic Toxicology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, a MS in Environmental Toxicology from Clemson University, and a MS in Urban and Regional Planning – Land Use Planning from the University of Wisconsin.
Mike enjoys paddling canoes and kayaks, especially while wilderness canoe camping and exploring class 1-2 whitewater rivers.
