In October 2021, Jacob Slattery joined the Mashkiiziibii Natural Resources Department in Ashland. He received Masters degrees from UW-Stevens Point and Michigan Tech in Natural Resources Science and Environmental and Energy Policy respectively, where he researched renewable energy policy and consumption in response to climate change. Jacob currently serves as the Bakaan-Ingoji Gaa Ondaadag (Non-Local Beings) program manager. His work focuses on developing invasive species monitoring, control and remediation strategies and administering invasive species projects for the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
