Burton W. Warrington was raised on the Menominee Reservation by his Menominee father and his Potawatomi/Ho-Chunk mother. Today, he resides on the western edge of Menominee treaty territory with his wife and their four children. Mr. Warrington’s career includes a unique mix of legal, business, management and policy experience. As an attorney he has provided both legal and strategic advisory services to clients. As the President & CEO of a tribal holding company he developed and managed the subsidiary businesses and the company’s private equity portfolio. As a Counselor to the Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs – U.S. Department of Interior he was involved in a variety of national issues including Indian gaming, economic and energy development, land issues, and natural resource and cultural rights protection. As the President and Executive Director of Menomini yoU, a non-profit dedicated to language and cultural revitalization, he is involved in daily language and cultural revitalization work. Mr. Warrington currently splits his time and energy between his family obligations, family businesses, and roles in a variety of local and national organizations. Mr. Warrington holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration – Tribal Management from Haskell Indian Nations University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law.
