For more than two decades, Muriel was at the helm of A.B. Combs Elementary. The highly diverse and award-winning school carries the honor of being the original Leader in Me school, with Muriel as co-author of the book by the same name. Currently, !, 5,000 schools in over 50 countries are replicating the transformative leadership model that Muriel and her staff initiated, and which inclusively sees all adults—and ALL students—as leaders. Following her recent retirement from Wake County Public Schools in Raleigh, North Carolina, Muriel joined FranklinCovey Education as its Global Ambassador. She presents at international and local educational conferences on such topics as: • Reinventing School Leadership from the Inside Out • Inclusive Approaches to Transforming School Culture • Leading with Heart / The Heart of School Leadership • Finding Your Voice as a School Leader Muriel is the proud mother of two children, and is enjoying her new role as grandmother.
